Korea

16-19 April 2013

We took a quick trip to South Korea this week. Our main purpose was naturally to eat a lot of Korean food but we also enjoyed visiting the historic town of Gyeongju, the former capitol of the ancient Silla kingdom.

First, the food.

Our favourite restaurant in Gyeongju.IMG_8775_small

We also visited the famous Bulguksa Temple outside Gyeongju. Together with around 100.000 Korean school children… IMG_8701_small

Later we walked up to the Seokguram Grotto. The grotto houses a beautiful seated buddha in white granite (no photos!). Here is the entrance to the grotto and a few pictures from the surroundings.
